Biodynamic Craniosacral Therapy & Lyme Disease

BCT can be extremely helpful in the treatment of Lyme Disease. This illness has become endemic in just a few years and there’s a lot of misinformation and gaps in knowledge creating a climate of fear around it. So the first thing I would say is: don’t be afraid. Lyme is treatable. Even complex, longstanding cases can find relief with a holistic approach.

Next, if you suspect you or a family member have Lyme, immediately go to the doctor. None of these insights are intended to substitute for consultation with a medical professional.

The standard treatment for Lyme is a course of an antibiotic called Doxycycline. Doxcyclyine doesn’t actually kill the Lyme spirochete, but puts it into a dormant state. The immune system takes advantage of this dormant state to clear the spirochete. But Doxycycline is quite debilitating and sometimes immune systems are already compromised and unable to work effectively. BCT can be a great aid to the immune system to ensure that the antibiotic has been effective and nothing is lingering.

I have not yet seen a case of Lyme that was not cleared with quick treatment and strong immune system support.

As for chronic Lyme, There might also be damage to the nervous system, heart and other tissues from the spirochete. Tremors, anxiety, fatigue often remain after the disease has cleared; BCT can help the system to heal all these. Additionally, the long treatment of antibiotics, sometimes intravenously, can be incredibly draining in itself. BCT can help to clear the medicine from the system after the treatment is done.

I’ll be talking about chronic Lyme in more detail in a further post. But the gist I wanted to get across today is: don’t live in fear of Lyme. Our systems are capable of great healing and resilience.
